Starts from Compiegne (in the Oise department, north-east of Paris) and finishes at the velodrome in Roubaix (in the Nord department and less than 2kms from the Belgian border) covering a total of 259 kms. The race is described as "the Hell of the North" , hilly with cobbled sections.
