Brittany bed and breakfasts, chambres d'hotes, hotels

La Velodyssee is a series of french cycle routes including cycle lanes, trails, some lanes for non-motorised traffic and some quiet minor roads. Often scenic whether near the seafront, forest or alongside canal / river banks and sometimes using former railway tracks - plus intersecting with other European cycle routes.

One route follows the Atlantic coast from Roscoff in Brittany to Hendaye in Aquitaine, total 1200 kms. The Breton part is from Roscoff to Nantes, following alongside the Nantes-Brest canal and passing Lake Guerledan (the largest artificial lake in Brittany). Then the route continues through the regions Pays de la Loire, Poitou-Charentes and Aquitaine.

Eurovelo 1 (La Velodyssee is part of this cycle route)  includes Norway, UK, Republic of Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal. The ferry sails from Roscoff in France to Plymouth in UK where the cycle route then passes through Devon, Exmoor, Bristol and Wales before joining the Celtic trail. Next into Ireland, across Northern Ireland then a ferry from Belfast to the Scottish coasts. Travelling on through Loch Lomond, Cairngorms, Inverness and Aberdeen.
